Carlos Gomez, High School

Carlos became the High School Youth Minister at Valley Park on September 7, 2008.  In addition to being our youth minister, he works at The Phoenix Ranch School in Simi Valley teaching elementary and junior high physical education and coaching after school sports.  He wants to earn his teaching credential and get a master’s degree as he would like to teach physical education and coach full time.

Carlos grew up in Pixley, CA as was the youngest of 6 children.  He moved to the San Fernando Valley after graduating from high school and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from CSUN in 2008.  He enjoys the outdoors (beach volleyball, hiking, kayaking, biking), live music, most team and individual sports, coffee while reading, and educational documentaries.
Sam Dabit, Middle School

Sam became the Middle School Youth Minister at Valley Park on July 1, 2009.  In addition to being our middle school youth minister, he is also a high school football coach at James Monroe High School, which is a local high school in our community.

Sam demonstrates a great passion for youth and athletics; he is inspired to nurture a heart for Jesus Christ in both the youth group and the James Monroe High School football team. He is currently attending The King’s College and Seminary working on a BA in Christian Ministries.

Sam grew up in the San Fernando Valley; he is the middle child of five with two older brothers and two younger sisters. He graduated from James Monroe High School where at the age of 16, he found Christ. As a graduate of Monroe High School and assistant coach of its football team, Sam further extends his love of our community by serving our church in youth ministry.
